“Animal” might have raked in around 1000 crore at the box office, making Ranbir Kapoor a top superstar, but its content is troubling. Vikas Divyakirti, known from “12th Fail,” criticized the film, stating it takes society backward. In an interview with Neelesh Misra’s Slow Interview, the former IPS officer and current UPSC educator slammed the movie, saying, “A film like Animal sets us back by 10 years. It lacks social value; heroes shouldn’t behave like animals. Is everything just about money?” He dubbed “Animal” as ‘fuhad’ and ‘badtameez.’

Expressing his strong disappointment over the ‘lick my shoe’ scene between Ranbir Kapoor and Triptii Dimri, Vikas was appalled. He said, “After watching the film, what if some immature boys with feudal mindsets try to test their girlfriend’s love by asking them to lick their shoe? Making such careless and mean-spirited films is sad. These forces exist in the world, but promoting them is wrong.”
Vikas Divyakirti recently appeared in the acclaimed movie “12th Fail,” a real-life story of IPS officer Manoj Kumar Sharma, featuring Vikrant Massey. In the film, Vikas portrays the role of Sharma’s educator, adding to its inspirational journey.
Regarding “Animal,” both Javed Akhtar and Kangana Ranaut criticized the film, labeling its success as dangerous. However, director Sandeep Reddy Vanga staunchly defended it. Now, he’s gearing up for “Animal Park,” with Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role.
