Congress President Sonia Gandhi Held a Meeting with party MPs

The winter session of Parliament was adjourned a day before the event.  At the same time, Congress president Sonia Gandhi today held a meeting with Congress state-wise Lok Sabha members at the party’s parliamentary party office at the Parliament House. In the meantime, he said that the national level issues raised in the session of Parliament should be communicated to the people of your area. Gandhi convened a state-wide meeting of Lok Sabha MPs at the party office after the end of the winter session of Parliament and told the members that all issues raised by the party during this session should be taken out of Parliament.

All members should raise the issue among the people in their respective areas. In the Lok Sabha, some members of the Opposition, including the Congress, chanted slogans demanding the resignation of Union Home Minister Ajay Mishra in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence case in Uttar Pradesh, which brought the proceedings to a standstill.

In the Lakhimpur Kheri case, with the suspension of 12 suspended members of the House and the demand for the resignation of Ajay Mishra ‘Tenny’, some members of the Opposition staged a riot in front of the podium and walked out of the House several times.
