Amid rising cases of Coronavirus and threat of Omicron variant, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandvi on Sunday held a review meeting with all the states and union territories. He has directed the health ministers of the states to stop the spread of the Omicron variant. The meeting also discussed the immunization campaign for 15-18-year-olds starting from January 3.

The Health Minister said that in many states, the number of Covid-19 cases has increased three to four times as compared to the previous year. As well as omikron variants being found to be more contagious, increasing cases of omikron could affect the health system. Therefore, do not leave any stone unturned in strengthening health facilities. States have been instructed to make proper preparations to prevent the transition. The meeting also called for stricter restrictions to increase testing and break the chain of infection.

At the same time, in this review meeting, he praised the states and said that we have so far fought the Covid-19 epidemic and now we have to fight in the same way. I am confident that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will all work together in the fight against Corona.
